Maharashtra cuisine
Maharashtra cuisine food is also called Marathi cuisine. Traditionally, this cuisine food served a prompt manner than others. There are lots of tastes in Maharashtrian cuisine from different regions. So, let's start a food journey with my home only.
My home, Mumbai.
This year on Ganapati Bappa festival, my mother made the fusion of tasty food for the holy offering. Mom's food making technics are incredible. She makes very tasty food with pleasant aromas which are always mouth-watering๐
Every year we celebrate 1-1/2 days Bappa festival.
This year on the first day, we made -
1. Modak
2. Rice with Dal
3. Aluwadi ( Colocasia/Taro leaf roll)
4. Valachi Bhaji (Masc. Vegetable)
5. Mutter bhaji (Peas Vegetable)
6. Kobichi pachodi (Cabbage Salad)
7. Koshimbir (Mix vegetable Salad)
On the next day:
1. Puri
2. Shiralyachi Bhaji (Ridge Gourd Vegetable)
3. Aluchi Amati (Colacasia vegetable)
4. God sheera (Sweet Sheera)
5. Farsbichi Bhaji. (French bean vegetable)
After the Bappa's immersion, when I craved nonveg food. My mom made the best Vadavali style (one of the Hindu cast) food.
In the lockdown time, there was a food competition had been organized. The competition was about "Making Authentic Vadavali food" at Home. We participated, and guess my mom won that competition.
Vadavali food is more famous in the Palghar district located in Maharashtra.
That day we made:
1. Kombdi
Wada.
2. Mutten
3. Bhendi
Kolambi.
4. Umber
5. Solkadi.
6. Chincheche
Sar
7. Rice.
Pune, Maharashtra
My Second Best experience of Maharashtrian cuisine was in Pune. Before lockdown, I went to Pune with my friends. That time we had the best Maharashtrian food in one of the restaurants 'MULUKH'.
We asked for the menu card and as soon as we saw the menu, guess?? The food names were in Marathi manner. Hence we thought, they would serve us the best food and they proved us correct.
Firstly, they gave us Gul(Jaggery) and Shengdana(Peanuts) for munching.
We had ordered......
1. Kanda Bhaji.
2. Wangyache Bharit.
3. Chapati.
4. Solkadi.
5. Dal.
6. Bhat.
7. Poplet (Pomfret)
The food was awesome and delicious. That was my 2nd experience of my food journey.
Mumbai Misal
In February, I went to the "Any time Misal" Restaurant to have Misal Pav. This is a famous dish in Maharashtra.
We ordered two Misal.
1. Dekken Misal
2. Smokey Misal
I liked those names so I ordered the same and it was really tasty and spicy as expected.
Dish presentation was so good.
That was my 3rd experience in Maharashtrian cuisine.
